3 maintenance levels based on the level of soiling and contamination:
In line with ISO 23616, CWS Workwear applies the appropriate advanced cleaning process based on the level of soiling and contamination of the intervention gear. This ensures effective cleaning and decontamination while maintaining the protective performance of the PPE
Level 1: Routine Cleaning
For gear with normal soiling and no contamination, a standard water process is used. Items are desinfected and re-impregnated for waterrepellency.
Level 2: Advanced Cleaning for: contaminated PPE
For gear contaminated with PAHs (polyaromatic aromatic hydrocarbons), products of combustion or other identified contaminants, an enhanced cleaning process is used, including LCO₂ decontamination. Items are always disinfected and re-impregnated to restore water repellency.
Level 3: Specialised Decontamination for: heavily contaminated PPE
For heavily contaminated gear, such as items exposed to asbestos or other hazardous substances, a specialist decontamination process is applied. This includes dedicated handling and specialised cleaning processes to safely remove contaminants, with disinfection and re-impregnation for water repellency included as standard.
